Goods inspection workflow
A rules-based tool for inspecting returned or incoming goods — guiding checks, calculations, and consistent outcomes wherever items need to be received, assessed, and logged.
The first version of this project replaced an Excel-based tool that managed complex inspection logic, service rules, and cost calculations. Technicians needed consistent answers when assessing products — and those answers often affected pricing, timing, and what happened next in the workflow.
Repairs and replacements could affect one another, and different service levels changed the final result. The application keeps those calculations accurate and repeatable, while guiding users through the inspection with rules shaped around the products and processes involved.
The same approach applies beyond a single industry: anywhere goods are returned, inspected, or analysed, custom rules can replace manual spreadsheets and documents so every assessment follows the same logic.
